3 Mary Magdalene: She saw two angels in white

St Mary Magdalene, pray for us.

Reflection day three:

Today I reflect on Mary Magdalene who has entered the tomb of Jesus. (John 20) She sees two angels in white, seated where Jesus body had been, one at the head and one at the foot. She is so stressed out she can't focus or even recognize that they are angels. How many times are we too stressed to focus and see the divine?

Bright angels with wings. So easy to miss that wingspan...

A medieval rendering: still angels, St. Mary Magdalene still missing the point because she's too stressed to focus on the reality of the divine.

I'd like to continue prayer today for life at it's most vulnerable that we cannot see, often times because we are too stressed out to see their life and value. Yesterday we began praying for priests and the protection of the Holy Eucharist, where Jesus is there though we need to have faith to believe. Today I want to pray for another relationship that is often not considered in the realm of human existence: babies, humans in frozen embryos for in vitro fertilization and for their parents, doctors and priests who are in relationship to them.

Mary Magdalene couldn’t see Jesus in the tomb but she did see two angels. Where there is any human life, there are angels, each one of us has a guardian angel since the moment we exist.

On this third day of the novena, I continue to pray for those most vulnerable and the ones in relationship to them: I pray for each person in relationship with little human embryos sees the beauty and sanctity in that beautiful life.

Day Three: She saw two angels seated where Jesus body had been

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
St Mary Magdalene, intercede for us.

Lord have mercy,
Christ have mercy,
Lord have mercy,
Christ hear us,
Christ graciously hear us,.

God the Father of heaven,
Have mercy on us.
God the Son, Redeemer of the World,
Have mercy on us.
God the Holy Spirit, Holy Trinity one God,
Have mercy on us.

Mary of Magdalene, woman of faith, I pray for those whose belief in life is tested. I pray for parents who desire to have a child and feel any hopelessness, heaviness and grief to turn to our Father.
I pray for those doctors who desire to help couples struggling with infertility that they treat the root of infertility responsibly with patience and proper medicine and respect the dignity of each patient and each life. And I pray for priests who counsel couples unable to conceive that they have the courage to speak the truth with love. I give thanks for those priests who do. I pray that all see angels and divinity surrounding human life, and that they understand that where there is life, there is a soul. Mary Magdalene, I pray for parents who don’t feel they are good enough or don’t belong without having a biological child. I pray for them to receive healing and comfort and experience the love of parenthood through the fruit of love towards others in need of a mother and father.

Lastly, I pray for all souls that are in fertility banks as in vitro embryos that they their lives be valued and not wasted.

Hail Mary full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art though among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory for ever.

All glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be a world without end. Amen.
