The weather this week has been bitterly cold. The humid hot days of going to the gelateria have frozen to death by the winter.

So cold that it numbs the skin, the sidewalks stay frozen till noon, and seeing more than a few yards in front is difficult because of the thick fog. I think the frost and the fog are beautiful and romantic. Wouldn't it look lovely to put little tea candles along the frosty walkway towards an old Italian country cottage? Then have a crackling warm fire, a hearty dinner and read a good book? Ahhhh...to dream. The downside of the fog and ice always outweighs how romantic and pretty it looks. Car accidents, falling down the stairs, bad driving visibility, all terrible and sad things. But the pretty side of the fog and frost is often ignored.

No one strolls the park, but I like to think that the two benches are friends |

We have been eating warm yummy food like sausages, and this week I made apple strudel, that is typical from this area. It came out really gooey on the inside and flakey on the crust.

The slippery iced streets have kept me indoors and working on home projects more than walking as much as I normally would. I had a few projects waiting to get done that I blogged about in
"Tangled in Crafts". Well, guess what? I finished 2 and a half! I:
1. Unknit the sweater I was making, added that yarn to the couch blanket that needed to be a bit bigger.
2. Glued all of my pictures that were printed into a real scrapbook, along with some postcards
3.And today I finished the little baby hat that needed a top. It now has cherries.
Hopefully the sunshine will return soon, I miss it! It will also encourage me to get back to walking my usual couple of miles a day to the market or grocery store and back and keep me from growing into this:
