Pescara Market

The weekly Wednesday market used to line up on the strada parco or park street which is one long strait street only for pedestrians and bikers. The local Pescara government decided to make the walkable Strada Parco a road for a cable car....so they moved the market from there to a very confusing four to six streets. The cable car has not been finished yet and it will probably be stalled for months. The market starts mainly at the church then sort of sprawls over the following streets like a splattered broken egg making it very hard to find the vendor you are looking for. For example, last Wednesday I was looking for a particular vendor who sells handmade linens and lace. I walked like a lost dog forever searching for its bone. I never found my bone and came to the conclusion that my vendor disappeared. Anyways, I still like the market at least for the mere idea of what an outdoor market offers: bargains, fresh air, usually farm fresh food and people watching.

The Strada Parco where the market once was. Those round tubes are supposed to be for the cable car.

Eggs. One broken.

Counting his shekels

Everyone has a little cart to help pull the weight of the food.

This one makes me think of Holland.

These undies should enjoy their freedom while they can! They will be snugly attached to sweaty ladies  in the future.

The entrance is by the church at the end?
