St Maximilian Kolbe. Day 3.

If you wanted the whole world to read something you wrote what would you say? F. Scott Fitzgerald said, "You don't write because you want to say something. You write because you have something to say." St Max Kolbe led an extraordinary life, other than having an extraordinary and tragic death. One of the things he had on his heart was for the whole world to know of one person: The Immaculate, Our Lady, the Mother of God and our Mother.
St Maximillian Kolbe and his printing press. He had over a million readers. Imagine if he had Twitter...

He knew that for each of us to reach heaven as saints, we needed to imitate Mary and also denounce anything that openly  blasphemed the Holy Church, particularly the freemason movement In 1917 he had witnessed freemasons parading around the Vatican with signs and banners stating, "Satan must reign in the Vatican and the pope will be his slave." Well, when they put it like that, what was a loving priest of Mary to do but reach out to the woman who steps on the head of the snake (Satan) to fight the battle between evil and good. St Kolbe saw the diabolical strain of masonery entering the church through the guise of modernism, stripping bit by bit the sacred traditions and reverence for the Catholic faith. He noticed indifference was the fruit of masonic fed modernism, indifference to sin, indifference to faith and indifference to God.

Some of his fellow Franciscan monks even shuddered to think of St Kolbe wanting to fight a spiritual battle through prayer and printing the truth encouraging people to turn to Mary. Turning to Mother Mary seemed to them, well childish. Hm...that sounds about right. The lack of trust in Mary, the mockery of her, and the smugness of those who think anyone who turns to her is emotionally immature and in need of a good shrink. "Have you thought of therapy?" is no doubt the thought of many when they see devotion to Mary and don't know what to make of it. "I don't like religion, I believe in the universe and good and negative energy." Well, St Kolbe believed in God and he annoyed the heck out of people with his "bad energy" by setting up a printing press to talk about not the universe, but the Queen of the Universe. Come to think of it, if Jesus made everyone feel warm and fuzzy, He wouldn't have been nailed to a cross to die for us and offer redemption for all the bad things we do called sin. One can sin with positive vibes! Stealing? No problem as long as you have good vibes, go for it. Lying consistently? As long as it's done with positive energy in the universe lie away... the language of vibes and energy are an excuse for not wanting to have faith, renouncing sin and learning virtue. Let me tell you, God almighty offers a much better deal than vibes and energy.

Energy and vibes aside, St Maximilian Kolbe set up a high quality printing press in Niepokalanow, called "the City of the Immaculate". He and the friars grew from 18 to 800 in a few short years.

They lived in poverty, constant prayer and penance as they wrote and printed daily newspapers promoting the prayer and devotion to Mary. Their mission? To save souls by teaching people about how to follow Christ like Mary did. He was arrested for his writing, then let go. Being arrested and beaten by Nazi's didn't stop him from writing. Once he was freed, he set up shop again and kept writing.
His ransacked printing office. Note, statue of Mary decapitated. Not the first time in history that has happened and not the last. She's a powerhouse and not a little statue just like mom. Mom in a picture isn't the same mom in person.

I wonder what ran through his mind as he returned to his office after being arrested. Someone normal might have kept running never to be arrested again. St Maximilian Kolbe? He had another response and kept writing. He was not discouraged.

Day 3-Marian writers. For Catholic writers to be united to Mary.

In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen. St Maximilian Kolbe, pray for us and intercede for us.

Lord have mercy,

Christ have mercy,

Lord have mercy,

Christ hear us,

Christ graciously hear us.

God the Father in Heaven,

Have mercy on us,

God the Son, Redeemer of the World,

Have mercy on us.

God the Holy Spirit, Holy Trinity one God,

Have mercy on us.

St Maximillian Kolbe, intercede for us.  Today I pray for all Catholic writers and those being called to write. I pray for their hearts to be in union with God in a life dedicated to Him and inspired only by the Holy Spirit to write. I pray for all distractions to be made evident to them so that they can avoid them. I pray that you may intercede for them so that they may be rooted in a desire for holiness and a desire to convert souls. I pray that they have courage to write in charity and truth. I ask that you intercede in a special way with those having writers block where they feel overwhelmed with a spirit of discouragement, fear and self-doubt on the message. I ask you for intercession through our Holy Mother for God to restore clarity in the minds of those on the spiritual battle through writing the truth. may the Holy Spirit use their hands, experiences, personal character and love of God for good. I pray that Catholic writers have an increased devotion and trust in their Holy Mother, Mary. Lastly, I pray for intercession through prayer for the conversion of all freemasons I pray that the precious blood of Jesus spilled for them will bind the evil promises they made for generations of their descendants. I pray for the conversion and healing of their descendants who suffer from promises made by their ancestors. Lastly, I pray for the intercession of St. Michael the Archangel and St Gabriel in the presence of all writers in the world. May they experience conversion and an invitation to truth in Jesus.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, a world without end. Amen.
