Ruby is Two, and Life lately

 My goodness, it has been a while that I have been on my blog! In the days that passed into weeks and moths so much has happened. My daily life with Ruby has changed my life dramatically. I went from having a constant routine, a predicable life and two old cats to suddenly having a baby dog. A baby dog doesn't stop growing or changing when they turn one! They continue being little canine reptiles at times mixed with sweet smart little beings till they are two and start to simmer down. 

Little Ruby has been the highlight of my days. We usually start by playing more than I could imagine a puppy needing playing with! She took classes: Puppy Kindergarden, Intermediate Dog, and is in Advanced Training now. She trained for the Canine Good Citizen test but somehow I didn't realize that at six months, she was not going to be a good canine for a long while yet! Her love for people has blossomed more and more each day. She has a special fondness for fragile people, whether they are elderly, in a wheel chair or a tiny toddler hesitating on their next step. Ruby has a keen sense that this is someone special, and she loves going gently to that person and sitting sweetly by them allowing them to pet her. One of our favorite trainings, as a little puppy, was going to a special needs school at a horse farm. There, every morning at 9 AM, adults with intellectual needs would come to work with the horses during the day. Ruby would watch from the distance at the ways they would move, talk, dance or exclaim delight or anger. Little by little, she was allowed to get closer, till the students looked forward to coming to school to pet Ruby. 

My life has blossomed with little Ruby seeing this incredible creature that God created. She is knowledgable, and loves to learn.

In other news, the weather here has been changing and is strikingly beautiful this time of year. This fall has been mild and the trees have changed colors so slowly making me incredibly happy to see them day after day.
