Kitten's Summer and Annual Review

This summer has been one of the nicest ones in a long time.

Fatty and Bentley have enjoyed it thoroughly.

In his swimming trunks. No, he's not naked.
They have gone crabbing off the piers on the Chesapeake, napping on random people's boats, and chasing after butterflies in historic gardens. In the evenings, the have put on bright colored bow ties and sat to have a tiny beer watching the sunset in Annapolis and hearing a jazz band play out of a bar. It's been a good summer to be a kitten.

While at home though we need to work a little better on our relationships and also work habits. Fatty and Bentley had their annual reviews and did horribly. Fatty slept on the job, chewed through his work mouse, and when he had a full inbox he just sat on it and let people wonder when he would respond to email. What email? You emailed? Yawn, that's nice.

5 hour naps are a good use of company time!

If all office workers stretched they would feel better

He created a hostile work environment by routinely harassing people to feed him and scratching them when they wouldn't. Last but not least he stalked his boss.

Food. Food. Food. Food. Food. Food.

Food Food Food Food Food

Creepy kitty looking under the doorway

"I'll sit here for the meeting, and yes I'll take a water."

He also bit the hand that feeds him as his most passionate work (that of eating, of course) was moved and he chomped and oinked in the direction of her hand to put back his plate!
Barreling down on his bowl like a hungry hippo

Demerits were given and bad kitty time assigned in which he napped through.
Boundaries are blessings

Bentley on the other hand received a mediocre annual review, which is a little better. He was encouraged to pay more attention to detail and not to be so clingy. This he resents as he views clinginess in the workplace necessary for team cohesion.
"I'm on time for the meeting!!!!" Note the nails.
"Ready for the meeting."
He also believes that napping in equal amounts to working is necessary for a good workday.

Bentley believes all work meetings should involve naps, snacks and playtime. His innovative thinking on group dynamics has been ignored but he might get somewhere if he shares this in California. His last meeting went poorly though as he and Fatty had an all out brawl on the meeting table with fur flying, hissing kitty-curse-words and toppling over the projector, bottles of water and sending everyone in a tizzy to make them stop. If it was a one time emotion-filled moment that would be bad enough but manageable. Unfortunately HR has a file on these two fighting at work.....No amount of Professional Development can stop them.

"I said DON'T submit the budget!"

"You charged the catnip to the wrong GL account!!!!!!!!!!"

"This will teach you from forgetting to submit your timesheet!"

This fight was over a catnip toy and they thought it made sense but they were sent directly to HR in which they purred on the HR lady's lap and were told how cute they are. Little darlings.
Good boys

Their goals for next year are to not sleep on the job and to voice their disagreements in a more professional manner.
